Dec. 17th, 2018 06:49 amHrm, the one thing I will miss is some of the comments I've gotten on my art on tumblr over time, be they tags or reblogs. Can't go copy them down today, for obvious reasons, but I might tomorrow if tumblr doesn't go completely bottoms up. A lot can happen in 24 hours.
Ghost of the Sea cast
Dec. 15th, 2018 10:50 pmPosting some notes on a story I started planning on. For now it’s just a quick summary, and some character notes. Suggestions for characters are welcome (like a partner for Sandy. I can’t decide on Young!North or just North, Ombric or Bunny). Update: A while after I made this post, I decided on making Bunnymund the partner.
Title: The Ghost of the Sea
Genre: Horror/Tragedy
Basic summary: Two Paranormal Investigators are called on by Lord Kozmotis Pitchiner, a former Naval Officer, who is being haunted by the ghost of his wife.
Detailed Summary: To be written for notes later
Characters:
The Living
Lord Kozmotis Pitchiner – A former Naval Officer (either retired or handicapped in some way). He lost his wife to a drowning accident a year ago. He is trying to move on, by marrying his wife’s best friend, and then moving away from the house he lived in. Trouble comes in the form of his wife’s ghost haunting him.
Seraphina Pitchiner – Lord Pitchiner’s daughter. She is seven years old and misses her mother terribly, and isn’t really happy about having to move due to the changes it brings. She likes her stepmother-to-be well enough, but not as a motherly figure.
Lady Toothiana – Lady Toothiana is engaged to Lord Pitchiner. She was best friends with the deceased Lady Pitchiner. She does her best to act as a mother figure to Seraphina, but due to having to prepare moving house, along with preparing for a wedding, it’s very difficult. She was there when Lady Pitchiner died, being with her on a trip out to sea.
Sanderson “Sandy” Mansnoozie – Paranormal Investigator and Empath. Travels around with his partner and does his best to put restless spirits to rest. He’s the practical part of the partnership, taking care of appointments, the bills and so on. He can be underestimated, because he likes to nap a lot, but that’s because his gift as an Empath can be very tiring.
E. Aster Bunnymund - Paranormal Investigator, and Sandy’s working partner. Works more with the physical stuff, but also takes care of some practical things, such as interviewing people, searching for clues about the ghost itself, or sometimes preparing rituals that are meant to protect people from ghosts, cleanse the air, general protection, or finally completely exorcising the ghost.
Jackson “Jack” Overland – Servant boy at the Pitchiner Household. He and his sister are among Seraphina’s friends. He’s smart and glad to help, and has a good sense of humor. He will be moving with the Pitchiner household staff.
Mrs. Overland – Jackson’s mother. Works as head maid of the Pitchiner Household. Is a widow, having lost her husband a few years before to illness.
Mary/Emma Overland – Jack’s little sister and one of Seraphina’s best friends. Will be staying in town with her mother, when the Pitchiners move. (note: might make it so the whole Overland family comes along)

Lady Pitchiner – Lady Pitchiner is a ghost who haunts her family. She fell over board from a ship during a storm, and drowned. She loves her family too much however, and doesn’t want to move on. In the beginning, she is a friendly ghost. But three things trigger her into becoming hostile.
First, which is a mild trigger, is Seraphina missing her mother. Second is the engagement, and third is Kozmotis deciding to move. Because she drowned, she is able to appear through any water surface that has a connection to the sea somehow.

so I was reading the Wee Free Boogeymen drabble Again, and my brain went "How did this happen, if this was bookverse?" And brain decided that obviously this version of Kozmotis was a loud, angry equivelant(SP?) of a Constellation Scotsman, who still somehow managed to become a general, and when he got taken by the shadows, the Fearlings thought it would be easier to control him if they split him up. They were wrong.

XD I’ve actually thought more about it since then? And while one version with Angry Scotsman!Koz (who I’m picturing with the voice of Billy Connolly) is hilarious, another brain bunny suggested something else:
I remember some people loved the idea of Fanon Koz being rather straightlaced, all honorable and so on. All the Wee Free Boogeys are pretty much every single bit of him that was all his repressed rage and frustration, and the shadows merging with him gave that part of him ALL the excuse to just transform and roll out (in more than one sense).

Prompt idea - Wasp Waist
Dec. 15th, 2018 05:58 pmBecause this is more of a prompt idea than an actual story, I decided to post this here, an older post from my Tumblr.
I have an idea for a story, but I don’t know if I’ll do anything with it.
My sister was visiting mom and I earlier today, and while we were having tea, she and mom were talking about clothing sizes, and how messed up they can be, like how a large can be only a medium, or a medium can turn out to be small. I remembered how we have a specific term, which is called “Wasp waisted.” Short of the long, it’s for girls with thin long legs, and a just so sized waist for lack of a better word.
I then remembered a nature documentary with Sir David Attenborough, where he talked about different kinds of parasites, and a kind of wasp was among them. It lays its egg on a golden orb spider, and the larva lives off of the spider’s food, while injecting chemicals into the spider’s body. When the larva reaches a specific stage, it injects a specific venom into the spider, driving it crazy so it spins a cocoon for the larvae, before the larvae sucks it dry, and then climbs into the cocoon. When it comes back out of the cocoon after a certain amount of time, it has grown into a fully adult wasp.
It gave me a mental image of a series of women, who turn out to be a kind of parasitic, alien wasps. They prey on women who don’t have a problem with their bodies, be they small or large sized, but there is naturally a lot of frustration with finding the right kind of clothes. I have yet to find out how they would claim their victim, but it would involve some kind of larvae, maybe disguised as jewelry or some other seemingly harmless thing.
but yeah, writing this idea down while I remember it.
